Reported Cases in Ukraine Double in Two Days

The above numbers are from the latest update from Ukraine. The number of infected patients has almost doubled to just under ½ million, compared to the report two days ago (see map). Hospitalized patients also have spiked higher, to 24K from 15K. ICU cases are not listed, but 60 on ventilators are. However, most (37) of those on ventilators are Chernivisti Oblast, but Lviv, which has the most fatalities and cases, has none, suggesting the data is incomplete or there are significant shortages of ventilators. The number of dead has risen to 81, but media reports describe additional fatalities, include those in the Kiev Oblast.
The explosion of cases again raises concerns that the number of fatalities is significantly higher than the 81 listed. Media reports have described an equal number of pneumonia fatalities which were not considered flu related. The basis of these exclusions remains unclear. Similarly, anecdotal reports suggest the number of fatalities is markedly higher than the 81 in the table.
The rapid rise in reported infections, hospitalizations, and deaths in the past few days raise concerns that the virus is transmitting very efficiently. Spikes in cases have been reported throughout the northern hemisphere, but the spike in fatalities and the frequency in hemorrhagic cases in Ukraine have raised concerns.
Earlier media reports suggest that an update by WHO might be issued today and include preliminary analysis of samples sent to Mill Hill in London.
Daily updates on the rapidly evolving situation in Ukraine, including sequence analysis, would be useful.

I’ve been hearing about this rapid increase of Flu in the Ukraine earlier this week. I have friends there who have had the flu and recovered. So have my daughter and myself. It was the first time my daughter had the flu in her 13 years, and it was mild. So was mine. My Ukrainian friends were not so lucky. But their symptoms were not severe, but enough to have them out of work and school for a week or more. Of course mine started at work on a Friday lasted the weekend and by Monday I dragged myself back to work. My daughter was also sick for about 4 days. What is making the Flu in the Ukraine so contagious? Why aren’t there other reports similar in surrounding countries? True, it could be coming on vessels coming into the Black Sea, or by air.
I agree with Joseph in the previous comment. Just like in America the facts are hyped up, everything gets lumped as the flu; the media play a big part in the scare as well. I’ve been following this Flu since its mysterious Mexican origin (until this year, all flu originated in Asia). I have a gut feeling that it has been bio-engineered as it certainly has been reported as a “mixture” of various kinds of flu viruses spliced into one new strain. My fear is that the flu shots will not only increase the spread of the disease but also allow it to mutate into a more deadly strain.

Strange that this report comes right after the DProgram report earlier this week of aerosol spraying in the Ukraine–which the citizens were claiming caused the flu. The average man on the street can believe some stupid crap, but he just as often is dead on. This flu is NOT more contagious for Ukrainians; the cases rose because they were infected purposefully, just like their instincts told them. My gut feeling is that, since we won’t take the vaccine to get infected, and the false scarcity scam isn’t working, they’re distributing it anyway–whether just to frighten people to bring in martial law, or to sterilize them, or to prime the population for a later binary infection that WILL be deadly.
But I also think there’s room to keep this in sane perspective: out of nearly half a million, only 81 people have died. That sucks for those 81 people and their loved ones, but that is STILL not cause for great alarm.
