(EyesOpenReport) - In a 273-156 vote on Wednesday, the House of Representatives passed a bill which approved of President Barrack Obama’s $500 million plan to arm and train Syrian rebel forces.
The bill is expected to pass the Senate when it arrives there on Thursday to solidify the President’s goal of dismantling the ISIS “threat.”
It must be assumed that Congress has their heads so far in the sand that they missed the extensive reporting that has documented the ties between ISIS and the so called “moderate” rebel forces that the Obama administration is so hell bent on arming. Read the rest of this entry »
(DailyCaller) - The man who was the top Marine general from 2006 until his retirement in 2010 says President Barack Obama’s strategy to defeat the terrorist group the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria is doomed to fail.
“I don’t think the president’s plan has a snowball’s chance in hell of succeeding,” retired Marine General James Conway, who served as the 34th Commandant of the Marine Corps during the end of the Bush administration and the beginning of the Obama administration, said at the Maverick PAC Conference in Washington, D.C. Friday, according to a source in attendance.
Maverick PAC has described itself as a super PAC ”dedicated to inspiring the next-generation of conservatives, electing a new generation of conservative leaders, and sharing common goals and interests that will help shape the future of America.”
The source said Conway’s major concern was that the U.S. did not have a force on the ground in Syria it could rely on, like the Kurdish Peshmerga in Iraq. Though the Obama administration believes it can support what it says are moderate rebel forces in Syria to aid in the fight against ISIS, many critics warn that there may be no truly moderate force in the country of any significant strength. (BrandonTurbeville) - On September 17, 2014, the United States House of Representatives voted to approve the White House plan to arm and train the alleged “moderate” Syrian rebels. The vote was 273-156 in favor of the $500 million plan. Of course, the bill in question was actually an amendment that was cynically attached to a billdesigned to continue funding for the federal government in the short-term, ensuring maximum support from members of the House.
US airstrikes will only embolden support for terrorists say those among local populations in Syria
(SteveWatson) – The Islamic State terrorist group has seen an uptick in recruits following president Obama’s address last week, when he indicated that airstrikes to combat the extremists would be expanded from Iraq to Syria. Read the rest of this entry »

(Rep.JustinAmash) - What have we learned from the last decade of war?
Those years should have taught us that when going to war, our government must:
(1) be careful when defining a military mission,
(2) speak forthrightly with the American people about the sacrifices they will be called to make,
(3) plan more than one satisfactory end to the conflict, and
(4) be humble about what we think we know.
These lessons should be at the front of our minds when Congress votes today on whether to arm groups in Syria.
Today’s amendment ostensibly is aimed at destroying ISIS—yet you’d hardly know it from reading the amendment’s text. The world has witnessed with horror the evil of ISIS: the public beheading of innocents, the killing of Christians, Muslims, and others.
The amendment’s focus—arming groups fighting the Assad government in Syria—has little to do with defeating ISIS. The mission that the amendment advances plainly isn’t the defeat of ISIS; it’s the defeat of Assad. Read the rest of this entry »
(ActivistPost) - Later today, Congress (the House) is planning to vote on giving President Obama authority to arm ‘moderate’ Syrian rebels to fight (non-moderate) Islamic militants sometimes called, “ISIS” or “ISIL.” All of this despite reports that “moderate” rebel groups in Syria have recently signed a non-aggression agreement with ISIS.

(BernieSuarez) - The Obama speech is done. Those hypnotized by his lies ponder his message. The U.S. has the “authority” to attack ISIS/ISIL. The U.S. will enter the sovereign nation of Syria without permission because apparently it doesn’t need permission.
Obama in his usual deceptive talk, had the usual smirk on his face as he narrates his role in the now well established global empire of oppression, the U.S. empire. The new world order is here. Spread the word. Read the rest of this entry »
(BrandonTurbeville) - As the threat of nuclear war hangs over the world as a result of NATO meddling in Ukraine, Russia has once again warned Washington against military aggression. This time, however, the warning comes in the context of the Syrian crisis where the United States and NATO are considering “targeted airstrikes” against what it claims would be ISIS fighters but what would actually be, almost assuredly, the forces of the secular Syrian government.
This has got to be the most Orwellian moment of Obama’s perpetual warmongering yet.
(TruthStreamMedia) - It is now being reported by Breitbart that suddenly, “Nearly fifty senior commanders of a major coalition of Islamic ‘moderates’ opposed to ISIS in Syria have been killed by an explosion at their secret command bunker as they met to discuss strategy against the the Islamic State,” just a day after Obama vowed to fight ISIS in Syria…
(RussiaToday) – Elite donors of American allies in the Persian Gulf region have poured an immense amount of resources into rebel groups like IS in efforts to advance on three general goals: opposing Iran, its ally Bashar Assad and his government in Syria, and fomenting the Sunni-Shia divides in the region. (BrandonTurbeville) - Only hours after delivering his ridiculous address to the American people regarding his strategy to combat an organization that is entirely the product of the United States and NATO and one that is still under complete control of these powers, Obama conducted a meeting with “foreign policy experts,” former government officials, and journalists. (PressTV) - War hawks in Washington are using the beheading of two American journalists by ISIL terrorists in Syria as a pretext to take military action against Syrian government forces, an author and analyst in Chicago says.
US President Barack Obama and some members of Congress are “creating pretexts” to target the government of President Bashar al-Assad, not the ISIL militant group, Stephen Lendman told Press TV on Saturday. Read the rest of this entry »
(PressTV) – The ISIL terrorist group, which is operating in Syria and Iraq, is using weapons provided by the United States, an American peace activist says.
Don DeBar, anti-war activist and radio host in New York, made the remarks in a phone interview with Press TV on Saturday, a day after US President Barack Obama said Washington is assembling a broad international coalition to “snuff out” ISIL terrorists from Syria and Iraq. Lurid propaganda campaign stampedes public into accepting another war

(BrandonTurbeville) - As many had expected as soon as the announcement was made that Barack Obama would make a speech on September 10 regarding his strategy against ISIS, the U.S. President has confirmed that he reserves the right to engage in airstrikes inside Syria.
The President outlined a four-point strategy that would, according to him, “degrade and ultimately destroy” ISIS. Obama stated that, “if left unchecked, ISIS could prove a threat across the middle eastern region” and possibly the American “homeland.” Obama warned that ISIS terrorists originating from the United States and Europe could return home and engage in terrorist attacks on both American and European soil. So-called “moderate” Syrian rebels are openly aligned with Islamic State militants
(PaulWatson) - President Barack Obama is set to announce his plan to combat ISIS terrorists in Iraq and Syria by arming so-called “moderate” Syrian rebels despite the fact that such militants have openly aligned themselves with Islamic State fighters.
“Obama has told congressional lawmakers that he has the authority to proceed with much of his plan without their formal approval,” reports the Associated Press. “However, he is seeking authorization from Congress for the train-and-equip operation for Syrian rebels, a request he first made earlier this summer.”
(KeelanBalderson) – An absurd story put forth by “intelligence expert” Anthony Glees is doing the rounds today, suggesting that ISIS want to behead Scotsman David Haines to encourage Scots to vote Yes in the referendum. Read the rest of this entry »
Will not change strategy on supporting Syrian ‘moderates’
(SteveWatson) – Following accusations by the spokesperson for Steven Sotloff, the US journalist murdered by Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the Obama administration has claimed that the American was not sold to the extremist group by moderate Syrian rebels currently being supported by the White House.
The administration says that its own initial intelligence surrounding the disappearance of Sotloff has not revealed any indications that the journalist was exchanged by Syrian rebels for cash. Read the rest of this entry »
Assad government to consider any military action an act of war
(PaulWatson) - President Barack Obama is set to ignore Congress once again by launching military strikes inside Syria without consulting lawmakers, a move that threatens to enflame the entire region given that the Assad government has repeatedly insisted it will consider any military activity inside Syrian territory as an act of war. (NewEasternOutlook) - The United States has been inching its way toward intervention in Syria since hostilities began in 2011. From the beginning, the US State Department admitted that terrorist armies were waging war against Damascus; but both the US government, its allies in Europe, and prominent media organizations across the West repeatedly claimed that the conflict was not an invasion by multinational terrorist organizations, but rather a “pro-democracy uprising.” Now, years into the conflict, the US is finally at the threshold of direct military intervention, announcing that it would begin flights over Syria to gather “intelligence.”
The supposed differences between the Syrian rebels (which our government says are the “good guys”) and ISIS (the “bad guys”) are becoming so hard to differentiate these days, that apparently even our government’s most stalwart supporters of war can’t keep their lies straight when the cameras are rolling.
I’ve written multiple articles (here, here, and here) on the fact that good ‘ol Uncle Sam in the form of the Obama Administration has sent hundreds of millions of dollars to ISIS, the terrorist enemy in Iraq and Syria that our government also helped train which is apparently gotten so bad now, the government just has to start airstriking Syria (in addition to the strikes already taking place in Iraq) to stop them.
