(RussiaToday) – Syria has reportedly opened the New Year with a horrifying discovery of dozens of corpses in the capital Damascus. Some of the bodies were decapitated and bore traces of torture. They have not yet been identified. This comes amid widespread doubt there will be any major breakthrough in Syria’s bloody civil stand-off any time soon. (FOX19) – Mitt Romney accepts the Republican nomination tonight. While that should be the highlight of the convention, it is quickly being overshadowed by the shocking steps taken by Republican leadership.
We told you earlier this week about rule changes that would strip Republican grassroots from having a say in the future.
Tonight, evidence that the outcome of the vote on those rules was scripted and Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner may have played right along.

The American economy has gone away. It is not coming back until free trade myths are buried six feet under.
America’s 20th century economic success was based on two things. Free trade was not one of them. America’s economic success was based on protectionism, which was ensured by the union victory in the Civil War, and on British indebtedness, which destroyed the British pound as world reserve currency. The New Hampshire state legislature took an unbelievably bold step Monday by introducing a resolution to declare certain actions by the federal government to completely totally void and warning that certain future acts will be viewed as a “breach of peace” with the states themselves that risks “nullifying the Constitution.”
