(SMH) – Former intelligence whistleblower turned federal MP Andrew Wilkie has accused the federal government of exploiting fears about terrorism to rush through new national security laws that push Australia towards a “police state”.
The government’s first tranche of national security changes passed the House of Representatives on Wednesday with the support of the Labor opposition, although one Labor backbencher broke ranks to speak out against the laws.
Tasmanian independent Mr Wilkie, Victorian independent Cathy McGowan and Greens MP Adam Bandt all voted against the laws, which passed on the voices. Read More Here

(AmandaWarren) - So perhaps you think that warrantless checkpoints, random DNA sampling, no-knock SWAT raids to smoke out some criminals, and an array of high-tech weapons and drones were the only gifts bestowed upon society by a rightly outfitted militarized U.S. police force. Freedom isn’t free after all!
Since Christmas advertising celebration begins earlier every year, September 22nd seems a day as appropriate as any to remember how the Police State gives back. Read the rest of this entry »
(EyesOpenReport) - Homeland Security Secretary, Jeh Johnson, announced that the Department of Homeland Security will be giving retailers guidance on how to spot a potential terrorist based on what a customer buys. The Washington Timesreports:
While saying the government cannot prohibit sales of some everyday materials, Mr. Johnson said retailers should be trained to look for anyone who buys a lot from what he described as a “long list of materials that could be used as explosive precursors.” Read the rest of this entry »
(BernieSuarez) - Only time will tell, but is it too soon to guess whether the Ferguson, Missouri shooting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown will mark a turning point in our march toward tyranny in America? There are signs that this could be the case. Yes this could be an overly optimistic assumption about the current direction of the police state in America, but there is a slight chance that the consciousness that came with the Ferguson shooting may have been a badly needed cure to the metastasizing police state problem. (PaulCraigRoberts) - Update: Here is a report on the autopsy. http://rt.com/usa/181116-brown-presser-baden-preliminary-autopsy/ The facts directly contradict the false information police apologists are sending around the Internet. Note that the Missouri governor blamed the violence on the black community, not on the police who enraged the black community by gratuitously murdering a black teenager. One reader suggested that the macho goon thug cops with their military gear should be sent to Iraq where ISIS would cut them to ribbons. Read the rest of this entry »
(ClearPathRobotics) - One could debate the overall merits or failings of robotic systems, but one area that clearly has become a point for concern on all sides is the idea of “killer robots.” According to robotics pioneer, David Hanson, we are on a collision course with exponential growth in computing and technology that might only give us a “few years” to counter this scenario. John Oliver’s Brilliant Rant on Why Police Must Have Their Military ‘Toys’ Taken Away
(AlterNet) - HBO’s John Oliver dove right into events in Ferguson last night, entertaining as he informed his audience about the absurd over-militarization of America’s police forces and, of course, the ugly underlying racism of this push. “Police are dressed like they are ready for an assault on Falluja,” Oliver said of the now famous photo featured on CNN of multiple camo-clad police officers pointing high-powered rifles at a black man with his hands raised. “Police are not soldiers,” Oliver stressed. “Why are they wearing camouflage? If they want to blend in with the surroundings, they should be dressed as Dollar Stores.” Read the rest of this entry »

(TedBauman) - As World War I drew to a close in November 1918, over 2.5 million soldiers of the Imperial German Army remained in the field. They brought training, experience and battle-hardened attitudes with them as they streamed back across Germany’s borders.
These soldaten soon found ways to deploy their skills at home. Supported by Minister of Defense Gustav Noske, right-wingers — including one Corporal Adolf Hitler — organized ex-soldiers into Freikorps, and armed them with surplus military weaponry. These militia brutally crushed Germany’s nascent post-war democratic movement. For the next 20 years, they provided the core of the feared Brownshirts, street thugs who helped Hitler and the Nazis into power. Read the rest of this entry »
(NicholasWest) - The move to give everyone a global unique ID that can be verified across nearly all human activity has been in the works for some time. As you can see by the image at the right, defense contractor, Lockheed Martin, is now a global leader in biometric identification. Comforting.
Naturally, the fear of identity theft and cyber-banking crime of all stripes has been the sales pitch to accept identity tech such as facial recognition, iris scans, and fingerprinting, as well as their attendant databases. Read the rest of this entry »
(KOB) – New Mexico’s largest police department, mired in controversy over the use of excessive force, is about to supply military-style weapons to officers using taxpayer money.
The investigative team at KOB Eyewitness News 4 learned that Albuquerque Police awarded a bid to a local vendor for the purchase of AR-15 rifles — the type of gun used to kill James Boyd in the foothills in March.
According to the request for bid, which ended two weeks ago, the department would likely purchase 350 guns in the first year of a two-year contract. Thereafter, it would order quantities of 50 as necessary. Read the rest of this entry »
While the White House publicly denounced UK government’s actions, spy chiefs secretly lauded it
(SteveWatson) - Newly uncovered documents show that then NSA head General Keith Alexander was fully briefed on the UK government’s mafia style threats toward The London Guardian, concerning the newspaper’s possession of NSA files leaked by Edward Snowden.
Journalists with The Guardian were eventually forced to destroy hard drives and memory cards while thuggish intelligence agents working for the GCHQ, the UK’s lead spy agency, looked on saying they could “call off the black helicopters” once the materials were pulverized. (BrandonTurbeville) – Ever since 9/11, it has been apparent that the American empire is living on borrowed time. In more recent years, the inevitable collapse of American world hegemony and the unipolar world is one that very few informed observers can continue to ignore.
Riddled with massive unemployment, an overextended military, entrenched police state, crumbling infrastructure, and the ever-present threat to the US dollar, it is clear that the United States is merely the shell of its former self. Indeed, in 2014, the concept of long-term American primacy is only a fantasy maintained by the mainstream media with its constant repetition of meaningless and absurd notions of recoveries, humanitarian interventions, and national security. (DailySheeple) – Parts One and Two of this series described how the United Nations is poised to take over the United States. The border crisis with tens, if not hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens is threatening paralyze several federal agencies. When this number grows to millions, this country and its resources will be paralyzed in terms of responding the holocaust which is underway. Part Two, in particular, demonstrated how the United Nations is prepositioning resources in anticipation of being able to assume a policing duty with regard to the border crisis, which has totally been manufactured in order that the UN has a pretext to function as a force. “Here [in New Mexico], we are moving more toward a national police force. Homeland Security is involved with a lot of little things around town. Somebody in Washington needs to call a timeout.”—Dan Klein, retired Albuquerque Police Department sergeant
(JohnWhitehead) - If the United States is a police state, then the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is its national police force, with all the brutality, ineptitude and corruption such a role implies. In fact, although the DHS’ governmental bureaucracy may at times appear to be inept and bungling, it is ruthlessly efficient when it comes to building what the Founders feared most—a standing army on American soil. (ZeroHedge) - At first blush, the title of this post could be perceived as somewhat hyperbolic by those who still have an impression of America’s police departments as bastions of safety, designed “to protect and to serve” the population of the “land of the free.” However, said impression would be promptly washed away upon reading an article in today’s NYT which citing Pentagon data, reveals that under the Obama administration, “police departments have received tens of thousands of machine guns; nearly 200,000 ammunition magazines; thousands of pieces of camouflage and night-vision equipment; and hundreds of silencers, armored cars and aircraft. (DailySheeple) - The mainstream media is officially having a full-on field day with the Vegas shooters’ online postings, demonizing the patriot movement and basically anyone critical of the government.
In case you haven’t seen the news, the main report is that 31-year-old Jerad Miller and his 22-year-old wife Amanda shot two police in cold blood at a Las Vegas CiCi’s Pizza, left a Gadsen “Don’t Tread on Me” flag on one cop’s body and a Nazi swastika on the other’s before heading over to the Walmart across the street and yelling about how the revolution had begun. Liberal media issued retractions in previous attempt to link Jones to murder of cops
(Infowars) – The emerging narrative in the Las Vegas shooting now includes Alex Jones.
Raw Story, a liberal news blog, has placed Jones at the center of the controversy. “Jerad Miller outlined his political views, which were largely based on conspiracy theories promoted by Fox News and Alex Jones, in his social media postings, and he posted frequently about firearms and violent revolution,” writes Travis Gettys.
Jones and the liberty movement will now be implicated in the murder of police officers by way of insinuation. This is a repeated pattern. Read the rest of this entry »
Incident follows reorganization of domestic terrorist task force

According to a report posted at the Daily Mail, the married couple suspected in the shootings and who executed a suicide pact following the rampage were “militant” and “obsessed with conspiracy theories.” They allegedly shouted at diners to “tell the police the revolution has begun.” Read the rest of this entry »
I have learned over the years that when one’s mind is made up, this diminishes fear; knowing what must be done does away with fear. Rosa Parks
(JackMullen) - Americans face a new crisis: police violence against citizens is escalating, blurring the line between criminal and public servant.
Escalating violence against American citizens by police has reached a bifurcation point; Americans are feeling the heat and are beginning to realize something must be done to deescalate police or soon America will join the ranks of hell holes of police crime and violence like Mexico, Haiti, Russia, Uzbekistan and elsewhere where police are independent gangs, violent and undisciplined and devolving into something closer to pirates – stealing property directly from their victims.
