(NaturalNews) – A sneaky, eleventh-hour attempt by Senator Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) to essentially shut down the supplement industry alongside an amendment pertaining to prescription drug user fees has failed. In a vote of 77-20, the U.S. Senate voted to table Amendment No. 2127, which would have created “duplicative, unnecessary, and unexpected new regulations” for the supplement industry that could have resulted in many common supplements being pulled from store shelves. Revealing Desperation of the Establishment’s Jokers
(BFP) – Yesterday, as part of my daily news comb, I visited “iWatch News,” one of several dozen websites on my list of news outlets on government related scandals-revelations. I usually skim the headlines and stories to see whether anything gets my attention as coverage-worthy. Well, their top headline yesterday fit what I was looking for: Read the rest of this entry »

Editor’s note: Ron Paul will not, as suggested below, end Social Security outright, as many liberals fear. His plan “honors our promise to our seniors and veterans,” in other words those currently in the programs could stay in them, but it would allow younger workers to opt out of the Social Security system and its payroll taxes.
(CounterPunch) – Ron Paul is the only antiwar candidate who has a (microscopic) chance of winning in 2012. He’s also the only candidate who will make an effort to restore the Bill of Rights and reverse Congress’s decision to allow the president to “indefinitely” imprison American citizens without due process. (NewAmerican) – “A dictator enjoys unrestrained power over the people. The legislative and judicial branches voluntarily cede this power or it’s taken by force. Most of the time, it’s given up easily, out of fear in time of war and civil disturbances, and with support from the people, although the dictator will also accumulate more power with the use of force.” Those prescient words of Republican presidential candidate Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) are taken from his book Liberty Defined: Read the rest of this entry »

Gingrich is done
(SteveWatson) – Two new polls out of Iowa have Ron Paul and Mitt Romney within one or two percentage points of each other with just four days to go until the Iowa caucuses.

Claims Minnesota Congresswoman is in “statistical dead heat” with frontrunner Ron Paul
(PaulWatson) – In an effort to falsely characterize the Minnesota Congresswoman as a top tier candidate, the Michele Bachmann campaign has resorted to lying about the Iowa primary poll numbers, claiming she is in a “statistical dead heat” with frontrunner Ron Paul when the statistics show the opposite to be true. (AmericansJourney) – America has often been described as a “sleeping giant.” The term refers to the tendency of most Americans to get along with their lives – leaving politics to those drawn to this dog-and-pony show – paying their taxes and letting the babies have their candy – that is – until the baby’s antics become so out-of-control, out-of-touch, and downright dangerous to their very existence that they can’t help but notice that something is very very rotten. Establishment media attacks Paul after confrontation with Bachmann
(PaulWatson) – Following Ron Paul’s clash with Michele Bachmann over foreign policy during last night’s Republican debate in Iowa, the establishment media characterized Paul’s views as an “outburst” that could cost him votes, when in reality the majority of Republican voters now want U.S. troops brought home, troops who themselves support Paul over every other GOP candidate. (BusinessInsider) – Ron Paul’s supporters in Iowa are very loyal and very excited. And they are poised to make Paul the winner of the Iowa Caucuses next month.
This isn’t the script the media has been writing for this campaign. Instead, “Tea Party Queen” Michelle Bachman, who beat Paul by just a few score votes at the Ames Straw poll earlier this year, was supposed to win this state – and confirm that the GOP has gone bonkers. Many believe the modern day Tea Party movement started Dec 16, 2007 when Ron Paul supporters thought of having a tea party in Boston to raise money for the Paul campaign. Through the Tea Party, and the tea party “Money Bomb” on the Internet the people raised over $6-million in a 24 hour period. Most of the donations were small amounts made by thousands of supporters. This was a historical record breaker, one that has not been matched since to my knowledge. Read the rest of this entry »
(RonPaul) – The Fed’s latest actions in cooperating with foreign central banks to undertake liquidity swaps of dollars for foreign currencies is another reason why Congress needs enhanced power to oversee and audit the Fed. Under current law Congress cannot examine these types of agreements. Those who would argue that auditing the Fed or these agreements with central banks harms the Fed’s independence should reevaluate the Fed’s supposed independence when the Fed bails out Europe so soon after President Obama promised US assistance in resolving the Euro crisis. (ZeroHedge) – Ron Paul lays it out: “We know what to do - we did it once after the Civil War period, we went from a paper standard back to the gold standard, and the event wasn’t that dramatic. But today the big problem is that both the conservatives and liberals have an big apetite for big government for different reasons, therefore they need the Fed to tie them over and monetize the debt. So if you don’t get rid of that appetite it’s going to be more difficult, but the transition isn’t that difficult. Read the rest of this entry »
(PrisonPlanet) – Many people have the misconception that sanctions are an effective means to encourage a change of behavior in another country without war. However, imposing sanctions and blockades are not only an act of war according to international law, they are most often the first step toward a real war starting with a bombing campaign. Sanctions were the first step in our wars against Iraq and Libya, and now more sanctions planned against Syria and Iran are leading down the same destructive path. Read the rest of this entry »
